Monthly Review: Looking back on June '19
Hi, folks! Lucas here. It's good to be back as we roll into Summer here in the USA!
June has brought some exciting results for us that I'm happy to share with you all! Grab yourself a coffee/tea, and sit with me while I take you through all of June's developments. :)
Our Marketing Campaign is Chugging Along!
As a matter of fact, it's the core theme for this month's newsletter. There's been so much to do!
Like I said in last month's newsletter, the most challenging part of this whole project is getting the word out... well, at least that's how it feels. I'm happy to say that the watches come quite naturally to us, but marketing is quite an undertaking! Nevertheless, we've been ploughing through it with some fantastic results!
Mirus by the Thousands
I'm not kidding when I say we've had some fantastic results, you know. We've managed to capture the hearts of watch enthusiasts by the thousands! It's difficult to say how this will translate into sales/production figures, but we're optimistic. Moreover, it's extremely encouraging to know that we've designed a product that people really enjoy. After all, that's really what it's all about!
According to Google Analytics, most folks are finding us through the very watch forums that we mentioned in our previous post. Looks like we got that part right! As a matter of fact, we've joined the conversation in even more forums, so be sure to be on the lookout, especially on Facebook!
In the midst of our marketing and customer engagement efforts, we've also been working with reviewers - big and small - to get a fresh perspective on our watches. We hope that this will help spread the word, but also to give you folks an honest assessment of what it is that we have to offer.
An important note on our reviewers: We go through a full vetting process to make sure we are working with only the best folks around. We don't pay our reviewers for favorable results, we ask them to give their honest opinions. This is important to us because we believe that honesty really is the best policy. Anything else would just be unethical.
Be on the lookout for these folks in the near future! We expect many - but not all - to release their content close to our Kickstarter in October.
A Revitalized Website is Underway!
I know we talked about this a bit last time, but an even better website takes time. Rest assured, we will have a revitalized up an running in the near future, along with some great new content! More photos, videos, FAQs, and more, so be sure to check back often!
We're finalizing our watch packaging designs and prototypes and hope to share them with you shortly! While I can't give away too many details, I can certainly let you know a few.
We're looking to keep packaging simple, yet highly functional. For this reason, we're looking to pack our watches in travel cases. We think this is a nice way for our customers to get the most out of their purchases, because honestly, who uses the box afterward? Most of us simply store them in a closet somewhere.
Our travel cases will allow for storing multiple items, including the two straps that are included in all Mirus watches. This will allow you to switch the watch straps no matter where you are, allowing your Mirus to really be your watch for any occasion.
Gosh, this reminds me of one of my favorite gameshows when I was growing up as a kid. For those of you in the USA, you may know what I'm talking about. :)
Feedback is extremely important to us. So much so, that we've decided to ask all of our subscribers directly for their input. The results have been quite insightful and I'd love to share some of that feedback with you all, but before I do, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has participated (and for those who will continue to participate/engage in the survey) because it really does mean a lot. You folks are the best. :)
Onto some of the results!
Things people like the most: The dial design, followed closely by the fact that the watch is Swiss Made! Runners up include our choice of movement (Sellita SW200-1) and case design.
Things people would like to see more of: Dial designs and colors! I have to say, this caught me a bit by surprise, but the feedback on this one has been pouring in like a waterfall! You folks really do like colors! Well, I want you to know that I'm taking this one straight to our dial manufacturers to see if they can be incorporated into the first run of watches. If not, we will certainly include them later on.
Be sure to look out for future surveys as well. I'll be sure to ask you all what new colors you'd like to see!
Kickstarter Stretch Goals
We're continuing to investigate what stretch goals we can offer our Kickstarter backers.
Don't know what a stretch goal is? Let me tell you!
A stretch goal is an extra kickback; a way for us to say thank you for supporting our project! The more backers we get, the more we can offer.
For example, if we hit 300+ backers, we might include an additional nato strap free of charge. If we hit 500+ backers, we may throw in a shirt as well! If we hit 700+, who knows!
Right now, we're thinking of nato straps, shirts, hats, microfiber cloths, and just about anything else that we can offer that folks will get great use out of.
Have an idea for a stretch goal? Reach out to us via our e-mail in the footer below.
Project Status & Next Steps:
Our Kickstarter is still on track for October, so like we said in our last post, our marketing campaign will continue through then. We'll be focusing heavily on photography, videos, interviews, reviews, and more.
Of course, if you have a means of helping us to get the word out, please do share!
Help Us Out!
For those that are interested in helping us drive this to a success, we'll be sending out more surveys soon. However, if you'd like to chime in beforehand, we'd love to hear from you!
Reach out to us via our e-mail in the footer below and tell us a little about yourself!
Our Kickstarter campaign will be here before you know it, but there's still so much to do. Be sure to keep an eye out for future e-mails, newsletters, and more so you can keep your finger on the Mirus pulse.
As always, thank you all for your time and your support. We can't do this without you and we're grateful for everyone's help!
